hOW LONG DOES AN EICR TAKE?
An EICR - Electrical Installation Conditioning Report varies in duration depending on the size of the property. Typically, an EICR will take about two hours. The larger the size of the property, the longer the EICR will take to carry out.

The frequency in which one should have an EICR carried out varies on a number of factors. It is recommended that a periodic inspection and test should be carried out;
The Landlords and Tenant Act 1985 requires landlords of properties with short leases to keep the electrical wiring in repair and in proper working order.
- Every five years for tenanted properties, or at each change of occupancy (whichever comes first).
- Every ten years for an owner-occupied home.
- Every five years for a business.

How much will it cost to have an eicr carried out at my home?

In summary, an EICR to a studio flat would cost just £100 + VAT. At the upper end of the scale, an EICR to a five bedroom house would be £275 + VAT. For properties with six bedrooms or more, a survey would be required to determine an accurate cost.
