The new scheme which was announced by the Department of Transport on Monday 25th January 2016 will follow in the footsteps of Norway. Milton Keynes and Derby are two such cities which will be benefiting from the change.
Electric cars are seen as a key way for the UK to meet is carbon budgets and cut the illegal levels of nitrogen dioxide pollution that emits from cities around the UK.
The number of electric cars registered in the UK in 2015 was double that of the year before. 9,934 electric cars were registered in 2015; which in the grand scheme of things is still pretty small compared to sales of combustion engine cars.
