Solar panels save money at The Keep

CDS Electrical has completed its biggest solar panel installation to date at The Keep, the archive centre for East Sussex Record Office, Brighton and Hove City Council, and the University of Sussex.

This world-class facility requires a constant energy supply to maintain the thousands of valuable documents it looks after.

CDS Electrical installed 288 panels, a 90kw system, upgrading the a 50kw system to a combined total of 140kw. It is also part of East Sussex County Council’s mandate to lower carbon footprint and reduce energy costs.

The Keep will reduce its energy dependency of the grid and we estimate the system will generate 145030kWh of power a year, which is equivalent to saving 28.05t of Co2 emissions or planting 1288 trees.
