It is important to cater for disabled people to ensure they are able to experience and enjoy the same environments as the more able bodied. We take time to decide on the optimum design with our clients; ensuring we meet the requirements.
There are a whole host of services and installations that we offer for adapting commercial, domestic and education premises to a suitable standard for disabled users.
Specifically in educational premises, they must not discriminate against pupils requiring special needs and adaptations due to their disability. Pupils must be able to navigate the appropriate parts of the building with ease.
Disabled Toilet Alarms
Disabled toilet alarms are invaluable as the toilet itself. The alarm allows for a disabled person to be able to call for help whilst on the toilet; alerting others without the need to shout and panic. The alarm is activated by a pull cord which is within reach of the toilet; which sounds the alarm and turns on a red light above the door. The alarm can only be disabled by someone clearing it manually on the exterior of the toilet.
Induction Loop Systems
Induction Loop Systems (Sound Induction Systems) allows for those who are wearing a hearing aid to tune into a specific channel by selecting 'T' on their hearing aid. Being within the 'loop' allows for the connection to happen. Induction loops greatly increase the quality of the sound by removing any background noise.
Chair lifts alleviate the pressure of climbing stairs and are ideal for homes and business that do not have the space to accommodate a traditional lift. A home is a person's personal asset; and one should not have to move out and downsize if they find it a struggle to mount stairs. The chair lift gives the control back to the home-owner and allows them to navigate their home with ease again.
Automatic doors allow for easy access in and out of buildings and rooms; alleviating the need to manually struggle to hold open a door whilst navigating through it. In addition to not having to manually push the door open; the fact the doors are automatic means they do not need to be touched to be opened or closed and therefore the chances cross contamination of germs from one human to another is significantly reduced in environments such as health care centres and hospitals.
